The Giant and the Mouse

A giant and a mouse sat down and they played tic-tac-toe.
The giant put and "X" down, the mouse then put an "O".
The giant played an "X" again in hopes to make a row,
But mouse he blocked the giant's path, so on the game must go.
Befuddled and bemused a bit the giant played again;
He put an "X" inside a box in hopes that he would win.
"Not Today!" the mouse did say, "though smaller than your shin,"
"This match is mine, three in a row; what fun this game has been."

The giant then, he looked right down, the mouse was smiling wide,
He grabbed the mouse, and ate him whole, and then he went outside.

Midnight Snack

It's 12:02 and I can't sleep,
I need some chips and dip.
Or maybe just a piece of chicken,
Or a few Cheese Nips.
Cold pizza might taste really good,
Or peanut butter and jelly,
But I won't sleep at all tonight,
Unless I fill my belly.
Hold on a bit; I hear a growl
From underneath my bed.
I hear some chomping and some chewing;
A mouth is getting fed.
There go my covers and my mattress,
OH NO!  It's got my back!
Plans have changed a bit tonight,
'Cause I'm the midnight snack!

BIGFOOT CAUGHT ON CAMERA!

Went out last week for a hike in the woods,
Spent a couple of nights in a tent.
Counted deer and elk and squirrels,
And picked up a pole cat's scent.
Crossed some creeks and jumped some logs,
Climbed a tree or two;
Skipped some rocks and whittled sticks,
And stepped right in some poo.

But then it happened - I couldn't believe it!
A creature scooted by.
Walked upright with lengthy arms,
Hair from its head to its thighs!
The beast looked like I thought he would,
'Bout six foot nine and hunched,
Heavy bodied with dreads in his fur,
I could have been his lunch!

I followed his trail, those giant tracks.
His feet were awfully big.
I caught his scent, about passed out,
He smelled just like a pig.
And then it happened, my dreams came true,
OUT JUMPED THE YETI!
I let out a sigh and turned off my camera,
It was just my Uncle Eddie.

Unusual Suspects

Dialed 9-1-1, oh yes it's true,
Someone had stole my kangaroo.
They showed up soon, those men in blue,
I told them one specific clue.
"This thief was different, he was skewed,
Can't quite remember how though blue."
They searched the night and caught eleven,
Brought them in, four bods plus seven.
I took a peek and what I saw
Made me curl up into a ball.
The first one had a giant paw,
Like a bears with five sharp claws.
The second's knees were far too big,
His legs looked like they grew two pigs.
The third man's arms dragged 'cross the floor
And went right underneath the door.
The fourth one looked just like a deer,
In fact he was, this is quite queer!
The fifth and sixth were joined together
And their hair was made of feathers.
Seven stood up straight and tall,
His head looked like a tennis ball.
Eight was standing on his hands,
His kilt was raised, his cheeks were tanned.
Nine was backwards, ten was green,
It was the strangest crew I'd seen.
Eleven was invisible,
Except for all his sparkly jewels.
I told the cops they'd done quite swell,
But none of these quite fit the bill.
I then remembered the one strange thing
That on the crook I think I'd seen.
So then I said, "It's none of these!"
"Let them go blue, if you please."
"The thief who stole my kangaroo,
He had two different colored shoes!"

Black Hole

Maw said to keep away from snakes and cliffs and trolls
But she never mentioned nothin 'bout playing near black holes
So my gal and me found one - and she peeked inside first
Now I'm single again, but I guess it could be worse.

Date With a Werewolf

Al met a girl cute as a button
He asked her out one day.
She said she'd better not
But as he begged she said OK.
Washed his car and shaved his face,
Bought some chocolates and flowers.
Ironed his pants and darned his socks,
Must have taken six showers.
Everything seemed perfect as he knocked upon her door,
Sun was setting,
Birds were chirping,
Couldn't ask for more.
He parked on Lover's Mountain
And he got out his guitar.
Strummed his sweet a song or two
They gazed up at the stars.
Then the moon it was quite full
Beamed down upon the gal.
Her hair grew thick, her teeth grew long.
She then began to howl.
You may not want to know the rest,
I'm sure you have a hunch,
But if you ask a werewolf out
Make sure it's just for lunch.

Christmas Aliens

Up Up Up Up Up And Away
Much higher than ol' St. Nick's sleigh!
There are some creatures watching us
And watching every single day.

Their eyes are yellow like a bus.
They have four arms eight elbows plus
Two legs three chins and one large ear
And come from planet Gergelgus.

But once a year they come quite near.
They can be seen when nights are clear.
Their interest is our old St. Nick,
The one that brings us Christmas cheer.

And one day they may grab him quick
Before the second hand goes tick.
That sure will make the kids feel sick.
That sure will make the kids feel sick.

The Christmas Tree Eater

The Christmas tree eater is coming tonight
He's coming to your house and mine
He's not too picky what type tree
Whether Douglas Fir, Cedar, or Pine
He slithers underneath the doors
Around the couches and chairs
And swallows the Christmas trees down whole
Without a single care
Lights, ornaments, and popcorn strands
He doesn't mind a bit
Bells, candy canes, pictures, and stars
And even a candle lit
So beware little kiddies and make sure tonight
That if you play Hide-n' Go Seek
You may hide anywhere in the house
But don't dare go hide in the tree

Halloweenies

I like tatered chips I do
And I like pork and beanies
But there ain't nothing quite so good
As those scrumptious halloweenies
Only found but once a year on October thirty one
They quietly come out of hiding after the setting of the sun
But one thing you should know right now before you roast a few
If you don't chomp them down real quick
Then they will chomp on you

Harvey the Dragon

Harvey the dragon despised his birthdays
His wishes never came true
Year after year it was exactly the same
His friends would sing "Happy Birthday to You!"
When time to blow out the candles came
Harvey would make his wish
And blow as hard as his lungs would allow
And burn both the cake and the dish

Troll Booth

Pay the toll or troll then go but neither is cheap
We need a helicopter, a boat, or maybe a Jeep
To get around this ol' bridge I haven't a hunch
We'll either lose our wallet - or be lunch

Momma Said

Momma said there's no such thing
as aliens or boogie men
No leprechauns, ghouls, or gnomes
no unicorns or big gargoyles
I'm not to believe in anything
like werewolves, satyrs, or fairy beings
There's never been fiery dragons
or hobbits like one Bilbo Baggins
No sirens, pixies, or Santa Clause
no don't believe in him at all
The Loch Ness monster is just a lie
just like that Pegasus in the sky
But Mommas gone no more to toil
for she was eaten by a troll
